Welcome ~ Getting Started!

Welcome Writer!

It is my sincere honor that you have chosen to allow me to be your guide on this amazing journey that actually goes beyond the 12 week course and into months of continued guidance and support.

What you need to know about me is that I'm here for you! I will always respond to your emails and return your calls within 24 hours. I will not respond to long text messages. Honestly, when I see a long text message, I'm usually busy so I save it for later then forget to go back to it. Please call me if it's urgent and email me if it's not.

Mark Your Calendar!

Course Start Date: Thursday, September 2, 2021. Check your email to receive your first week's lesson.

As a reminder, you signed up for this and acknowledged that you would make the time to devote to your writing project. So, before you do anything else, mark your calendar to attend the events and time-block time for your writing. Even if you think you won't be able to attend the events, put them on your calendar anyway to stay in flow with the group. For live events, you'll receive links to Zoom prior to each event.

1. Writing Appointments: Decide when you will do your 2 hours a day and time block that on your calendar for the next 12 weeks. Even though you won't be writing the first 2 weeks of prep time, still block off your 2 hours as you will want that time for yourself to prepare.

2. Live Q&A Sessions: Thursdays, Sept. 16, Oct. 7, Oct. 28 and Nov. 18 - From 5:30pm - 6:30am Pacific Time (8:30pm -9:30pm Eastern). Start a Writer's Journal, and as questions come up for you, make a note to share during these Q&A sessions.

3. Live Book Writer's Club:  Every 2rd Saturday 7:30am - 8:30am Pacific Time (10:30am - 11:30am Eastern), beginning December 11, 2021. To be in sync with the group, be sure to complete the first 2 assignments on time. It's all about preparing you to write. After that, you will begin writing and go at your own pace.

Get Ahead of the Program

If you're a real go-getter and can't wait to get started, we'll give you a couple of clues from your first couple of weeks for getting prepared to write:

1. Find Your Writing Spaces. Decide on a space within your home as well as a space outside of your home, like a park, lake, out in nature, or a coffee shop. Wherever you feel at peace and inspired. Decide on at least two writing locations where you can think and not be disturbed for a couple of hours.

2. Find Your Writing System. Some people feel the energy flowing more freely when using pen and paper (journals or yellow note pads). Some find it easier to use a computer. Some just don't want to write at all, and would rather record their thoughts and have someone else transcribe it later. What works best for you to get into a flow, into a rhythm? If you don't know right now, just go with typing, and make sure your Mac or PC is up to date!

I hope you are as excited as I am!
I'm so looking forward to watching your work unfold.
